Seine umfangreichen Erfahrungen als Spieler, Trickstoßartist und Trainer gibt er seit 1995 auch in Buchform weiter. Nach Eckerts Einstieg in die Bundesliga und die Nationalmannschaft, behauptete er sich auch international: als Euro-Tour-Champion in Antalya (1999), Ranglisten-Erster der Euro Tour (2000) und mit dem Champions-League-Titel (2004). In den Jahren 2003 und 2004 wurde er Deutscher Meister, als Trickstoßartist errang er in den USA auch einen offiziellen World Champion und Masters Titel. Bereits 1998 ernannte ihn die European Pocket Billiard Federation (EPBF) zum ersten internationalen Europa-Trainer h.c. Neben seiner Landestrainertätigkeit in Baden-Württemberg agierte der Autor bereits als Nationaltrainer in Dänemark, Thailand und Marokko. Seit 2006 ist er offizieller Spieler der International Pool Tour (IPT).
