Description
André Butzer (born 1973, lives in Berlin) is known for his provocative pop-expressionist paintings, which address the major social contradictions and trends of our time. Elements from comics, Disney, and art history, among other sources, appear on equal footing in his intensely colorful and energetic paintings. Butzer is similarly eloquent with words, and this volume, the fourth in a series, draws from the artist's ever-expanding archive. For the new book, the artist's longtime editor, Alexander Linn, spent over five years poring over countless documents and reviewing all of Butzer's publications from that period. The result is a valuable sourcebook featuring texts, interviews, letters, and poems, as well as a transcript of the 2023 biopic André Butzer, His Art and His Time.
