Der Lehrer Dr. Wilhelm Ganss gilt als Pionier der liechtensteinischen Botanik, obwohl er auf diesem Gebiet Autodidakt war. Er veröffentlichte 1954 den Aufsatz "Die Orchideen Liechtensteins", in dem er die einheimischen Orchideen seiner Wahlheimat sowie deren ökologische Rahmenbedingungen beschrieb. Anna Hilti hat diesen Text zum Anlass genommen, um eine zeichnerische Interpretation der von Ganss botanisierten, inzwischen jedoch in Liechtenstein ausgestorbenen Spinnen-Ragwurz (Ophrys sphegodes) anzufertigen. Weitere künstlerische und literaturwissenschaftliche Positionen nehmen die von Ganss gelegte Textspur auf. Gespräche mit Experten gehen den Gründen und Folgen des Verschwindens der Spinnen-Ragwurz nach. In 1954 he published the essay "The Orchids of Liechtenstein", in which he described the native orchids of his adopted country as well as the ecological conditions pertaining there. On the basis of this text, Anna Hilti decided to create a graphic interpretation of the spider-orchid (Ophrys sphegodes), which Ganss had studied in its natural habitat but which was now extinct in Liechtenstein. Further artistic and literary positions track the textual trail laid out by Ganss. Interviews with experts examine the causes and consequences of the disappearance of the spider-orchid.
