In the global information society, complex normative orders are emerging that can no longer be translated seamlessly into the normative logic of nation states. Key players in this information society are the intermediaries of the internet, such as Meta (formerly Facebook) or Alphabet (formerly Google). Their mode of action contributes toward the creation of a transnational legal order - a lex digitalis intermedia.Bodo P. Bützler undertakes a multidisciplinary examination of this transnational legal order, considering relevant economic, legal and philosophical discourses. He discusses whether and how (i.e. on the basis of which criteria) a legal system might still be qualified as a legitimate legal system when that legal system is increasingly shaped by private, non-state actors. Bützler ist Rechtsanwalt mit Tätigkeitsschwerpunkt im IT- und Datenschutzrecht und Dozent an der FOM Hochschule für Oekonomie & Management. Seine Forschungsschwerpunkte liegen im Bereich des Internetrechts, des Transnationalen Rechts, der Rechtstheorie und der Rechtsphilosophie.
