Swami Sahajananda (1781-1830), der Gründer der Swaminarayan Bewegung, der von seinen Anhängern als Verkörperung Krishnas angesehen wird, ließ das Satsangijivanam von Swami Shatananda schreiben, damit sein Wirken und seine Lehre unter seinen Nachfolgern durch diesen Text weiterleben.
