""Where and When to Believe" ist eine Zusammenstellung von Diagrammen, Schriften, Collagen, Zitaten und Illustrationen zu verschiedenen Konstrukten von Überzeugungen, deren Systeme sich oft als soziale Wahrheiten präsentieren und zu vielfältigen ästhetischen Expressionen führen können. Es ist auch eine Untersuchung über Schlupflöcher, Fehler, Abwehrmechanismen, Ausbrüche von unterbewusster Manipulation und andere Manöver. Denkt man deren Konsequenzen zu Ende, könnte man zu einem Punkt gelangen, an dem viele Automatismen lediglich als naives Begehren erscheinen, etwas Beruhigung vor der Welt zu finden. Taslima Ahmed and Manuel Gnam are artists and collaborators working under the pseudonym FLAME amongst others. They are two of the artists and advisors behind Dold Projects and from 2010-2012 used to write the controversial art-blog post-C-A-N-V-A-S. They are also co-editors of a new art journal - Art Against Art.

"Where and When to Believe" is a compilation of diagrams, notes, quotations, collages and illustrations on how systems of belief, that often present themselves as social truths, can unleash various aesthetic forms. It is also an investigation into loopholes, mistakes, defence mechanisms, bouts of subconscious manipulation and many other manoeuvres. Taken with all its consequences therefore, one may be led to a position where many automatisms could be seen as a naïve desire to take comfort from this world.
