This book is the attempt to compile for the first time in one single edition all the information about Port Ellen Distillery, which previously had been spread across various works. The chapters of this book include the whole history of the Port Ellen Distillery, the reasons for its closure and removal as well as a cask analysis and pictures of original and some special bottlings.

Dreyer, Holger
The author, Holger Dreyer is 52 years old and has graduated in history. He bought his first bottle of Port Ellen whisky in summer 1996 on Islay. This has triggered a passion for collecting Port Ellen bottlings as well as information about the distillery, which by then had already been shut down for 13 years.
