Chr. tatsächlich bereits vorgenommen worden; sie fehlt aber noch weitgehend für die Basen aus späteren Epochen. Damit ist der zweite, bislang eher vernachlässigte Punkt angesprochen: Die lange Nutzung der Akropolis in der "nachklassischen" Zeit, d.h. zwischen dem mittleren 4. Jahrhundert v. und dem späten 6. Jahrhundert n. Chr., hat bisher nur wenig Aufmerksamkeit erfahren. Dies gilt trotz der Tatsache, dass die Akropolis auch im Hellenismus und in der römischen Kaiserzeit das wichtigste Heiligtum in Athen blieb, in dem weiterhin eine intensive Kultpflege stattfand, welche mit entsprechenden Ritualen und einer fortdauernden Ausstattungspraxis verbunden war. Zugleich war die Akropolis zu einem bedeutenden Erinnerungsort geworden, an dem die glorreiche Vergangenheit der Polis in immer neuen Inszenierungen kommemoriert wurde. In the Hellenistic and particularly the Roman Imperial period the Acropolis of Athens embodied the greatness of the "polis" in Classical times and must to an extent have attained a museum-like status. This volume represents the results of an International Colloquium at Bonn University which took place in June 2006.
