ch die beiden folgenden Grabungskampagnen v.a. der Erforschung der monumentalen Grabbauten A und B, von denen nicht nur die Fundamente, die Umfriedung und die Grablegung, sondern auch nahezu 1000 Fragmente des Architekturdekors, die Aschegruben mit Grabbeigaben sowie ein Depot mit 53 Terrakotta-Figuren gefunden wurden. Die errechneten Höhen von 20m als auch die zahlreichen fgürlichen und ornamentalen Friese lassen erkennen, dass diese
beiden Grabbauten an Größe und Ausstattung den bekannten Monumenten von Neumagen und Igel nicht nachstanden.
Der vorgelegte Band basiert auf einem Internationalem Kolloquium, welches das Archäologische Institut der Universität zu Köln in Zusammenarbeit mit dem "Lehr- und Forschungszentrum für antike Kulturen des Mittelmeerraumes" (ZaKMiRa) durchführte. The present volume is based on an international colloquium held by the Institute of Archaeology of the University Cologne and the "Centre for Mediterranean Cultures". Their aim was not only the review but also the completion of the research results of the exploration in Duppach-Weiermühle by putting them in a larger context. On the one hand some articles represent the research results of the grave monuments A and B at Duppach-Weiermühle. On the other hand various contributions compare these monuments to other grave monuments in the "Treverer Land", neighbouring regions and the North West Provinces dated to the 2nd and 3rd century in order to clarify their regional and supraregional signifcation.
