The immediate goal has been to discover to what degree the poetic elements of the original text were reproduced in the translation.

The immediate goal has been to discover to what degree the poetic elements of the original text were reproduced in the translation. The analysis illuminates the question of the quality of the Slavic translations of Byzantine liturgical hymns.
