With the IBA_Vienna 2022, which was announced in 2016, the Austrian capital is taking on the challenges of an International Building Exhibition for the first time. The focus on New Social Housing refers to Vienna's historical core competence in housing construction and to the most pressing question for the development of European cities today: in light of current changes, how can cities remain inclusive, livable, and affordable, and what can comprehensive neighborhood development contribute to realizing these aims?

On the occasion of the interim presentation in 2020, the future.lab at the TU Vienna and IBA_Vienna 2022 will offer a first summary of where things stand, allowing experts from research, planning, politics, and practice to articulate positions.
