Description
Beauty is no accident-it comes from attitude, knowledge, and conscious self-care. Prof. Volker Steinkraus, renowned dermatologist and founder of Dermatologikum Hamburg, has seen hundreds of thousands of skin types in four decades of clinical experience. He knows what makes people look really good.
In "HOW TO LOOK BETTER" he distills these 40 years of experience into ten clear maxims: the essential building blocks for skin that is naturally beautiful-and for aging that happens calmly and confidently. This approach not only works on the surface, but also benefits all organs and the entire organismic balance. Without any longevity cults, cosmetic promises of healing, or anti-aging myths.
With precision and passion, Steinkraus shows why skin is much more than an outer shell, how deeply it is interwoven with the body, mind, and lifestyle-and why true beauty arises where health and consciousness come together.
A book about skin, science, aesthetics, and life itself: profound, clear, evidence-based, and surprisingly human. Not just another beauty guide-but a new, honest philosophy of well aging.
Volker Steinkraus grew up in the Lüneburg Heath. After a career in competitive sports (German team champion in modern pentathlon in 1974), a banking apprenticeship, and studies at the College of Art, Literature & Science in Ann Arbor, he studied medicine and qualified as a professor at the Dermatology Clinic of the University of Hamburg, which he headed as acting medical and managing director. In 1997, he founded DERMATOLOGIKUM, one of the world's largest outpatient dermatology facilities, where today more than 70 doctors treat all issues related to the skin and aesthetic dermatology.
