Konrad Fischer gilt als einer der international bedeutendsten Avantgarde-Galeristen der Nachkriegszeit. An der Düsseldorfer Akademie ausgebildet, machte er zunächst als Künstler unter dem Namen Konrad Lueg u.a. durch seine Aktion Leben mit Pop Eine Demonstration für den kapitalistischen Realismus (mit Gerhard Richter) von sich reden. 1967 gründete Fischer in Düsseldorf eine Galerie, die erstmalig in Europa inzwischen international renommierte Künstler wie Bruce Nauman, Carl Andre, Hanne Darboven u.a. vorstellte. Das Buch okey dokey Konrad Fischer vermittelt anhand von zahlreichen, unveröffentlichten Fotografien ein lebendiges Bild und gewährt in Gesprächen der Autorin mit Bruce Nauman, Gilbert&George, Carl Andre, Kasper König, Thomas Schütte und anderen eine kenntnisreiche und zugleich persönliche Annäherung an Konrad Fischer und seine Zeit.

Konrad Fischer is regarded internationally as one of the most important avant-garde gallery owners in the post-war period. Trained at the Düsseldorf Academy, he first made a name for himself as an artist under the pseudonym, Konrad Lueg, among other things through his artistic action together with Gerhard Richter, Living with Pop A Demonstration for Capitalist Realism. In 1967 Fischer founded a gallery in Düsseldorf in which, for the first time in Europe, artists who in the meanwhile had become internationally renowned, such as Bruce Nauman, Carl Andre and Hanne Darboven, were presented. The book, Okey dokey Konrad Fischer, communicates a lively picture using many unpublished photographs and, in the editor's interviews with Bruce Nauman, Gilbert&George, Carl Andre, Johannes Cladders, Kasper König, Thomas Schütte, among others, provides a knowledgeable and at the same time personal approach to Konrad Fischer and his times.
