Der englische Begriff lore bezeichnet das kumulative und kollektive Wissen über ein bestimmtes Thema. Er ist heute vor allem in der Sprache des Gaming und des seriellen Erzählens verbreitet, wo er die umfassende Hintergrundgeschichte zu einem fiktiven Universum bezeichnet. Diese Ausgabe des trans magazins versucht die vielfältigen Formen zu verstehen, wie lore in unserer Gegenwart wirkt: Die Texte befassen sich mit erzählten Wirklichkeiten, Wissenslogistik, mit Geistern und Engeln sowie damit, wie das Unbewusste die gebaute Umwelt beeinflusst.

"Lore" as a term suggests a cumulative and collective understanding of a topic. Today, it is particularly common in gaming and serial storytelling to refer to the comprehensive background story of a fictive universe. This issue of trans magazine attempts to understand the many ways in which lore affects our present moment: the texts deal with narrated realities, logistics of knowledge, ghosts and angels, and how the subconscious influences the built environment.
