Robert Schumann schrieb seine Fantasiestücke op. 73 für Klarinette und Klavier innerhalb von zwei Tagen im Februar 1849. Nur wenige Tage später fand eine erste Aufführung durch Clara Schumann und den Dresdener Klarinettisten Johann Gottlieb Kotte statt. Anfangs noch Soiréestücke betitelt, ließ der Komponist die Werke unter dem Titel Fantasiestücke veröffentlichen, womit er einen Bezug zu poetischen Aspekten herstellte. Bereits der im Juli 1849 erschienenen Erstausgabe lag nicht nur eine Klarinetten-, sondern auch eine Violin- und eine Violoncellostimme bei. Seitdem haben sich Schumanns Fantasiestücke op. 73 auch als fester Bestandteil des romantischen Repertoires für Violoncello und Klavier etabliert. Die vorliegende Edition stützt sich auf die Erstausgabe, neben deren Text nachträgliche Korrekturen aus Schumanns Handexemplar berücksichtigt wurden. Das erhaltene Kompositionsmanuskript diente als wichtiges Korrektiv.Schwierigkeitsgrad: 3-4

Robert Schumann wrote his Fantasy pieces Op. 73 originally for clarinet and piano. The first edition of Schumann's Fantasy Pieces Op. 73 published in July 1849 contained not only a clarinet part but also a violin and a cello part. Since then, they have become an integral part of the Romantic repertoire for cello and piano. This edition is based on the text of the first edition, Schumann's personal copy and his composition manuscript.
