Description

(Text)
Transdermal drug delivery refers to the delivery of sufficient drug through the skin to the vasculature to produce therapeutic systemic concentrations. This route of drug delivery makes it possible to overcome the drawbacks normally associated with conventional routes of drug administration and offers a convenient and controllable means, thereby leading to enhanced patients' compliance. This book presents a detailed review on various aspects of transdermal drug delivery as well as experimental data on the study of lamivudine (anti-retroviral agent) and meloxicam (anti-inflammatory agent) as potential drugs to be transdermally administered. It is therefore, recommended for the students of Pharmacy and Medical sciences, Academics, Clinicians as well as those who may be interested in this route of drug administration.
