Der Einfluss von Sportler_innen wächst. Während die Bemühungen um Teilhabe und Mitbestimmung in den Sportverbänden jahrzehntelang nur begrenzte Wirkung zeigten, erzielen mittlerweile zahlreiche neue Interessenvertretungen eine eigenständige und wirkungsvolle Repräsentation der Athlet_innen. Wie wirkt sich diese zunehmende Politisierung auf die Sportlandschaft aus? Der Band untersucht an ausgewählten nationalen und internationalen Beispielen die Möglichkeiten und Grenzen neuer Organisationsformen der Interessensvertretung im Sport.

The influence of athletes is growing. While the efforts for participation and co-determination in the sports associations had only limited effect for decades, numerous new interest groups are now achieving an independent and effective representation of athletes. How does this increasing politicization affect the sports landscape? Using selected national and international examples, this volume examines the possibilities and limits of new forms of organization of interest representation in sport.
