Jahrhunderts, die sich inhaltlich und/oder formal auf die biblische Tradition der Psalmen beziehen: von Else Lasker-Schüler, Georg Trakl und Bertolt Brecht über Karl Wolfskehl, Gertrud Kolmar und Nelly Sachs bis hin zu Ingeborg Bachmann, Christine Lavant, Thomas Bernhard, Friedrich Dürrenmatt und Peter Huchel. Der Fokus liegt auf Dichtern aus der Bukowina: Alfred Margul-Sperber, Isaac Schreyer, Alfred Gong, Immanuel Weißglas und Paul Celan. Abgeschlossen wird das Buch mit einem Exkurs über die Psalm-Gedichte des Gegenwartsautors Said.
