'I beleive that the situation of gays in Greece is shameful for them...there is no decency in Greek gay life...disgrace is part of gay culture'(Petros,2004) In this book,I am scrutinizing the structures which have determined the construction of gender and sexuality in Greece,to reveal why they have led to the marginalization of Contemporary Athenian homosexuals.Moreover,I am analyzing whether Athenian homosexuals reproduce these homophobic structures or subvert them to produce counter- structural possibility. I was born by Greek parents in Los Angeles/California on the 06/11/1971. However, my family moved back to Greece in 1976 and raised me to be a cosmopolitan Greek combining the best - I hope - of both cultures. My cosmopolitan nature has been a major motivating force in my life and has always led me to a diversity of experiences.
