Description
Art, space, and social media: how digital platforms reshape places, visibility, and cultural experiences.
Today, art practices unfold across physical sites and digital platforms. In her study, Ludovica Tomarchio reveals how museums, art districts, and small cultural venues are reshaped by the logics of social media, influencing visibility, public experience, and spatial practices. Through detailed case studies from Singapore and beyond, this book demonstrates how architecture, curatorial practices, and social media platform cultures interact in processes of hybrid spatial production.
Ludovica Tomarchio, born in 1988, is an architect and researcher affiliated with the Technische Universität Berlin, where she is part of the Collaborative Research Centre SFB 1265 »Re-Figuration of Spaces.« She previously held a postdoctoral position at TU Berlin before joining the Universität der Künste Berlin (UdK), where she continues her work at the intersection of art, space, and digital culture. She earned her PhD from the Singapore University of Technology and Design (SUTD) in collaboration with the ETH Future Cities Laboratory.
