Die Deutsch-Amerikanerin, in New York geboren, entdeckte ihre Liebe zu den Bienen auf einer Farm in Maryland. Sie ist Imkerin, Wissenschaftlerin und gab zwei Bienenmagazine heraus. Seit Kurzem leitet sie die Landesanstalt für Bienenkunde an der Uni Hohenheim, zuvor war sie Leiterin am Institut für Bienen in Celle. Carim Nahaboo ist Illustrator und lebt in London. Er ist auf detailgetreue Naturdarstellungen spezialisiert, illustriert aber auch vieles mehr.
