Cornelia Franz studierte Germanistik und Amerikanistik. Nach einer Ausbildung zur Verlagsbuchhändlerin arbeitete sie mehrere Jahre als Verlagslektorin. 1993 begann sie, Reiseführer, Romane für Erwachsene und vor allem Kinder- und Jugendbücher zu schreiben. Petra Baan, geb. 1977 in den Niederlanden, studierte an der Kunsthochschule Utrecht Illustration. Sie arbeitet als Illustratorin, Designerin und Siebdruckerin u. a. für Buch- und Zeitschriftenverlage. Seit 2016 lebt Petra Baan mit ihrer Tochter in Berlin.
