Description
The papers in this volume go back to the 21st International Strindberg Conference, which took place in Göttingen in June 2019. They take up Strindberg's ambivalent relationship to the Enlightenment: his criticism of it as well as his productive preoccupation with the philosophy and literature of the 18th century. This applies, among other things, to Strindberg's scientific and aesthetic experiments, his cultural-critical considerations and conceptions, as well as to his continuous engagement with the project of modernity and the modern concept of subject subsequently to Kant. Karin Hoff ist seit 2007 Professorin für Skandinavistik / Nordische Philologie an der Universität Göttingen.
