Volume A "You can t clap with one hand!" deals with gender studies and networking. volume B will focus on gender research and networking. Both issues were disussed during the summer schools in 2006 und 2007 at the Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin, Germany and Ahfad University for woman in Omdurman, Sudan. The authors open the doors to their societies and give us insights into different communities and inform us about the processes and debates within the institutions of higher education.

Parto Teherani-Krönner ist sozialwissenschaftlich orientierte Humanökologin. Sie hat das Arbeitsgebiet der Ruralen Frauen- und Geschlechterforschung an der Humboldt-Universität zu Berlin aufgebaut. Zurzeit befasst sie sich mit Geschlechterordnungen und Mahlzeitenkulturen am Beispiel lokaler Gemüsesorten in Ostafrika.
