Description
Family matters with international factors are becoming more prevalent for practicing lawyers, notary publics, and courts. The Staudinger-Revision of Article 19-24 of the Introductory Act to the German Civil Code (EGBGB) (law concerning the international protection of children 3) addresses the following issues in an academically substantiated and practice-based manner: the developments in the field of descent; international adoption and its effects on the name and citizenship of the child as well as issues in regard to the law of succession in the case of an adoption; and legal questions on international procedural law as well as guardianship, care and wardship. The legal issues surrounding Article 19-21 EGBGB, for example the problems of double paternity or the inconsistencies of lineage, are accurately analyzed and persuasive solutions are presented.
