Full Description
This text examines the results of the Pre-Congress Satellite Symposium, held in Paris in 1998. It focuses on the molecular biology and pharmacology of the alpha 1-adrenoceptors, as well as the pathology of the lower urinary tract with specific reference to BPH. In this section, the specific role of alpha 1-antagonists in the disease is outlined with coverage from eminent professionals in the field such as: Dr Takeda, Dr Kirby and Professor Jardin. Other topics include the distribution of noradrenergic nerves in the human lower urinaary tract, and clinical experience in Europe with uroselective alpha-1-antagonists.
