Full Description
Examines current testing practices as determined by a nationwide survey on pretransfusion testing and a survey of reference laboratories performing complex serologic testing. Protocols for "routine" pretransfusion testing, as well as past practices and future trends, such as the electronic crossmatch and automated technology are covered. In addition the material offers recommended testing for some of the more commonly encountered "complex" serologic problems, including autoantibodies, multiple antibodies, and the so-called "high titer, low avidity (HTLA)" antibodies.
