Dieter Kreidler's new guitar method is aimed primarily at children and young people who want to learn to play the guitar in small steps. It contains numerous ensemble pieces and varied exercises for song accompaniment and is suited for both private and group lessons. Nach langjähriger Tätigkeit als Professor und Dekan der Hochschule für Musik Köln, Standort Wuppertal, widmet er sich inzwischen wieder häufiger der Publikationsarbeit im künstlerischen und pädagogischen Bereich.Auch in seiner Freizeit und in der ehrenamtlichen Tätigkeit spielt bei Dieter Kreidler die Gitarre eine zentrale Rolle: Von 1978 bis 2012 war er Musikleiter des Bund Deutscher Zupfmusiker (BDZ). Als Dirigent leitete er zudem 13 Jahre das Düsseldorfer Zupforchester und war 1978 bis 2009 Dirigent des Landeszupforchesters NRW "fidium concentus". Er wirkt als Vorsitzender bzw. Mitglied in verschiedenen Projektbeiräten und Gremien des Deutschen Musikrates. Als Juror, Initiator und Mentor von Musikfestivals ist Dieter Kreidler immer wieder aktiv: 1994 verlieh ihm der Bundespräsident das Bundesverdienstkreuz für sein Engagement im Laienmusikbereich.
