Marc Chagall, geb. 1887 in Russland, ging 1910 nach Paris, um sich dem Kreis um Robert Delaunay anzuschließen. Nach Stationen in Holland, Italien und den USA ließ er sich 1948 in Frankreich nieder, wo er 1985 starb.Professor Dr. Roland Doschka geboren 1941 in Tübingen, studierte Romanistik und Anglistik in Tübingen, Aix en Provence , Montpellier, Newcastle upon Tyne und Oxford. Ab 1973 lehrte er Romanistik an der Universität Freibung. Seit 1981 kuratiert er zahlreiche Ausstellungen zur klassischen Moderne in der Stadthalle Balingen, darunter Claude Monet, Paul Klee, Pablo Picasso, Marc Chagall, Joan Miro, ab 1999 Kuratorentätigkeit in Rechberghausen. Er hat zahlreiche Werke zur Kunst der Klassischen Moderne, die in mehrere Sprachen übersetzt wurden, veröffentlicht.
