His work is characterized by the use of photography to distort reality through "perspective corrections." After studying in Tilburg and London-where he encountered representatives of Land Art-he abandoned painting and achieved his international breakthrough with conceptual photography and his "Plough Projects." His works are represented in major museums worldwide.
