SOM journal 7 ist der jüngste Band einer Reihe, die Arbeiten des Architekturbüros SOM im Kontext einer kritischen Diskussion präsentiert. Diese Außenbewertung durch eine Jury ist ein mutiger Ansatz und eine Besonderheit von SOM. Die Juroren des vorliegenden Bandes sind Erik Olsen, Rita McBride, Peter MacKeith, Juhani Pallasmaa, Luis Fernandez-Galiano, Joan Ockman und Kenneth Frampton. Die Jury traf sich am 19.5.2010 im Seagram Building in New York.
Die Publikation enthält folgende Essays: Kenneth Frampton, Notes on the Techno-Aesthetic Evolution of High-Rise Form 1896 1997, Thomas van Leeuwen, The Myth of Natural Growth II, William Baker: Building Tall, Mark Sarkisian: Emergence and the Power of One und Nicholas Adams: How the Leopard Got Its Spots: Lever House as a Skyscraper.

SOM journal 7 is the most recent issue in a continuing series presenting the work of SOM in the context of a critical discussion. The process of review by a jury is a daring enterprise unique to SOM. The jurors for this issue were Erik Olsen, Rita McBride, Peter MacKeith, Juhani Pallasmaa, Luis Fernandez-Galiano, Joan Ockman, and Kenneth Frampton. The jury was held May 19, 2010 at the Seagram Building, New York, New York.
The essays included are: Kenneth Frampton, Notes on the Techno-Aesthetic Evolution of High-Rise Form 1896-1997, Thomas van Leeuwen, The Myth of Natural Growth II, William Baker: Building Tall, Mark Sarkisian: Emergence and the Power of One, and Nicholas Adams: How the Leopard Got Its Spots: Lever House as a Skyscraper.
