In the context of their four-month Neobiota project, video artist Christine de la Garenne (*1973) and installation artist Via Lewandowsky (*1963) observed themselves and everyday life in Beijing with a special eye for the Other. The result is this collection of 120 photographs - poetic snapshots of a society in translation that also reflect the photographers' own process of adaptation to a foreign culture.
