Description
(Text)
This book is mainly focused on two point incremental metal forming process (TPIF) to improve the quality and increase the understanding of the incremental process. Experimental study covered the effects of process parameters, namely tool radius, step size and feed rate of the formability of (TPIF) process with a (dome test). Also, a term called contact ratio (tool radius/Deltaz) is used. Five values of contact ratio were tested (10, 12, 16.66, 20, and 24) with three feed rates of (400, 600, and 800) mm/min and an empirical model was predicted. The influence of four TPIF parameters; type of supporting (partial and full die), tool radius (5, 6 and 7 mm), stepover ( 0.3, 0.5 and 0.7 mm) and feed rate( 600, 800 and 1000 mm/min) on the average surface roughness, shape deviation and thickness distribution were analyzed on the basis of Taguchi method with mixed L18 orthogonal array analysis of means, signal-to-noise (S/N) and analysis of variance (ANOVA) which were employed to analyze the effect of TPIF process parameters with pyramid shape and two wall angle(57°and 66°). Also, the normal probability analysis for response characteristics for factors and their interactions has been achieved.
