During recent decades schools in England have had to respond to a plethora of innovations aimed at 'raising standards'. In the UK, the education policy agenda has manifested itself in a series of education reforms across the entire school sector, beginning with the Educational Reform Act of 1988. This book reports on a small case study focusing on the feasibility of applying the business model, lean six sigma, in supporting school improvement. The case study has a particular emphasis on improving the attainment and achievement of a vulnerable group.
