Description
This book presents a comprehensive study on the selection, installation, operation, and sustainability of solar collector systems with a particular focus on Algerian conditions. It examines solar energy fundamentals, solar radiation, climatic and environmental influences, site selection criteria, orientation and tilt optimization, shading analysis, and regulatory requirements. Detailed chapters address installation procedures, maintenance strategies, economic feasibility, and performance monitoring. Practical case studies from residential, industrial, and agricultural sectors illustrate real-world applications across different Algerian regions. The book also explores future trends, including advanced collectors, hybrid systems, smart monitoring, and urban solar integration. Overall, it provides a practical and scientific reference for students, engineers, and decision-makers aiming to optimize solar energy use in Algeria through efficient, safe, and sustainable installations. Prof. Foued Chabane is a Full Professor in Mechanical Engineering specializing in solar energy, heat transfer, fluid mechanics, and environmental pollution. He earned his engineering degree in 2004 and joined the University of Biskra, becoming Master Assistant in 2013 and Lecturer (Maître de Conférences) in 2015.
