This study is based on the use of HIV/AIDS knowledge to reduce HIV/AIDS prevalence rate through behaviour change. Some people bear the risk because they do not know the modes of transmission of the disease and the ways in which it can be prevented. They lack the knowledge on some simple ways in which one can contract the disease, but which they do ignore. In this case, they need knowledge and awareness on all the methods of transmission and prevention. Some may have general knowledge on a preventive method, but lack the knowledge on how to make use of the preventive method such as the use of condom. Youths might perceive condoms as beneficial in preventing HIV/AIDS but may lack knowledge on correct condom usage. Wrong usage of condom can reduce its effectiveness to prevent HIV/AIDS transmission during sexual intercourse. Knowing how to correctly use condoms and using them consistently during sex are among the major actions necessary for the prevention of sexual transmission of HIV. Ineffective use of condoms might impede young people's ability to protect themselves.
