IMAGES (II) - Images of the Poor offers readers a cross-section of current research on the perception of poverty and on con temporary and historical representations of poverty coming from a va ri e ty of fields in people's daily lives. The fact that the international group of con tri bu tors to this vo lume is wri ting from very different cul tural, ideological, scientific and aca de mic per spec tives and backgrounds is ad ding even more to the di ver sity of thought and ideas documented. The ar gu ments presen ted in the articles aim at raising the social aware ness needed to break the vi cious circle of poverty.
