While its title might be misleading, this book will cater to two groups of readers. Those looking for a tangible and easy to read overview of the basic physical properties of solar cells in general. And those who are investigating CIGS solar cells in specific. The book aims to be short and comprehensible. It includes introductory sections, which provide the reader with a clean and simple overview of the basic physical properties of solar cells. It continues to showcase multiple experimental methods typically utilized for solar cell characterization. A special focus is put on the effects of varied absorber layer thickness on solar cell performance. Among the experiments conducted, a special emphasis is put on quantum efficiency measurements under positive bias voltages. These measurements can be used to detect CdS photodoping and provide experimental evidence for the existence of short-lived hole traps within the CdS bandgap.
