This book aims to model your mind and strengthen it. It enables you to draw on the fantastic power of the mind. So you will not be a people-pleasing doormat. So you will know when to use your head or your heart. It traces the history of models of the human mind and proposes new ones, introducing the idea of controllable LEVEES of the mind. We particularly address control of the mind levees to explain behaviors such as depression, bi-polar disorder, obsessive compulsive disorder, hoarding. We go further in helping parents and friends of people with disabilities, by modeling mental retardation, bi-polar disorder, schizophrenia, Asperger, autism and ADHD. Models of reactions to the diagnosis and treatment of illness are developed, showing how bad news distorts the mind levees and how to adjust them for healing. Validity of mind levees on a national scale is considered, asking whether our whole nation may be locked in mind-sets which may be modeled and then controlled. Overall the book aims to enhance your creative and divergent thinking and raise your emotional intelligence, by drawing on the fantastic power of your mind.
