The purpose of this paper is to provide a breakdownof the Over-the-counter Bulletin Board as well as thePink Sheets. Professor Carl Luft from the DePaulUniversity in Chicago and Lawrence M. Levine directorof Corporate Finance Services at American Express Taxand Business Services Inc. in Chicago and ScottLarson who is an Intermediate Research Analyst atAllstate Insurance have pointed out in their researchpaper "Over the Counter Bulletin Board ExchangeMarket Structure, Risk and Return" that the lack ofknowledge of the OTCBB Exchange has motivated them toproduce their paper about the estimates of themarket's risk and return. Undoubtedly has theirresearch filled the information void by enlighteninginvestors about the structure of the OTCBB, but Ibelieve that the OTCBB as well as the Pink Sheetsdeserve a more detailed and in depth research when itcomes to determining the structural rules and thetrading processes that govern these trading venues.The idea is to elaborate the theoreticalbackgroundthat determines the over-the-counter market ingeneral and then put the OTCBB and the Pink Sheets incontext with each other as well as with the theory.
