Description
(Text)
Francis Schaeffer was a well known and profoundly
influential Christian philosopher, but a closer
examination of his work reveals an implicit social
theory in his writings as well. This book hopes to
acquaint the reader with Francis
Schaeffer through the lens of the Christian Right,
the American Culture War as delineated by James
Davison Hunter and his own work, A Christian
Manifesto. Though not an exhaustive review of
Schaeffer's life and work, this book will attempt to
provide the reader with a working knowledge of
Francis Schaeffer's ideas and philosophies in regard
to Christianity as well as provide a brief
biographical look at his life. Following the
establishment of these foundational aspects this
book hopes to explore what the author believes to be
a social theory implicit in Schaeffer's philosophy
and worldview.
