Part of an encyclopaedic reference on inorganic and organometallic chemistry, this volume, together with volume B6, focuses on trinuclear organoosmium compounds which have an OS3(1L)(CO)n skeleton. Both volumes give a survey of an important class of chemical compounds, citing numerous and well-studied examples. This volume B5 deals with compounds which have terminal 1L ligands such as alkyl, acyl, thiocarbonyl, isocyanide or carbene groups as well as 1L ligands co-ordinated by one non-bridging Os-C bond and one or more additional E - Os donor bonds (E = O, S, N or P).
