This book constitutes the refereed proceedings of the Third Asian Computing Science Conference, ASIAN'97, held in Kathmandu, Nepal, in December 1997. The volume presents 24 revised full papers selected from a total of 94 submissions. Also included are an abstract of the keynote by Michael O. Rabin, two full invited presentations, and 10 posters.
