Magnetic resonance cholangiopancreatography (MRCP) is a non-invasive technique for the diagnosis of pancreatic-biliary disease. The purpose of this work is to highlight the advantages and disadvantages, limitations and indications of MRCP. Specific examples have been selected to showcase the utility of this technique in a variety of clinical conditions. Each example is used to stress technical features, to give practical advice, or to discuss the role of MRCP in specific clinical situations.
