Claus von Carnap-Bornheim, Jahrgang 1957, promovierte und habilitierte an der Universität Marburg. Er ist ein renommierter Spezialist für die Archäologie Mittel- und Nordeuropas im ersten nachchristlichen Jahrtausend. Seit 1999 ist Claus von Carnap-Bornheim Direktor des Archäologischen Landesmuseums in Schleswig und steht der Stiftung Schleswig-Holsteinische Landesmuseen Schloss Gottorf vor.
