Full Description

In Volume 7/3, Zinzendorf's translation of the four Gospels and the Acts of Luke from 1739 and his revised edition of the translation from 1744/46 are printed in parallel in two columns to enable a quick comparison. The translation is based on preliminary work by a Collegium biblicum. Since Zinzendorf and his colleagues used the new edition of the Greek New Testament by Bengel, the original Greek text and the Luther text, which Zinzendorf used in his 1727 edition of the Ebersdorf Bible, are added in two additional columns. The edition concentrates on the reproduction of Bible texts and therefore does not contain any scientific commentary.
