This is the first in a series of catalogues of the collections of the Braunschweig City Museum. Duke Johann Albrecht zu Mecklenburg-Schwerin was from 1907 to 1913 Regent of the state of Braunschweig and served for decades as President of the German Colonial Society. On a seven-month honeymoon he and his second wife Elisabeth visited countries such as Siam, Indonesia and Japan - in those days still something of an adventure.
