Matthias Hölzner analysiert systematisch das Valenzverhalten ausgewählter Substantive in authentischen Texten. Die auf der Grundlage eines multidimensionalen Substantivvalenz-Konzepts durchgeführten Untersuchungen liefern wichtige Erkenntnisse zur Argumentrealisierung innerhalb der Nominalphrase. Wie die Analysen
zeigen, werden die Argumente valenter Substantive aber häufig außerhalb der Nominalphrase realisiert, also auf der Satz- oder Textebene. Matthias Hölzner zeigt, dass diese Freiheiten bei der Argumentrealisierung in Texten als kohärenzstiftendes Mittel eingesetzt werden.
