Das Verständnis von Repräsentation ist ein vielfach diskutierter Aspekt in einer parlamentarischen Demokratie. Insbesondere die Debatten um die Einführung paritätischer Wahllisten veranschaulichen diesen Diskurs. Vorliegend werden daher verschiedene Repräsentationstheorien, deren wahlrechtliche Auswirkungen, die Rolle der Parteien sowie deren Einfluss und mögliche Änderungen im repräsentativen System analysiert und aufgearbeitet. »Representative Deficits in the Party State«: The understanding of representation is a much-discussed aspect in a parliamentary democracy. The debates surrounding the introduction of parity electoral lists illustrate this discourse particularly well. This paper therefore analyses and examines various theories of representation, their implications for electoral law, the role of political parties and their influence, and possible changes to the representative system. Inés Manero Flock studied law at the University of Passau and Goethe University Frankfurt am Main from 2016 to 2021, specialising in constitutional and administrative law. From 2022 to 2025, she wrote her dissertation at EBS University of Business and Law under the supervision of Prof. Dr. Michael Goldhammer. While pursuing her doctorate, she worked as a research assistant at several commercial law firms in Frankfurt am Main. Since March 2024, she has been completing her legal clerkship in the district of the Regional Court of Frankfurt am Main
