Rolf Schroers (1919-1981) stand ab 1955 mit Carl Schmitt im lebenslangen engen Kontakt. Die vorliegende, in 214 Briefen und Gegenbriefen ziemlich vollständig erhaltene Korrespondenz ist ein Schlüssel zu Schmitts 'Theorie des Partisanen' (1963), die direkt auf Schroers' Buch 'Der Partisan' (1961) antwortet. Sie erinnert mit Texten und Materialien auch an einen markanten Repräsentanten der existentialistischen Kriegsgeneration und »Kahlschlagliteratur«, der als Publizist und Akademiedirektor die politischen Diskurse der alten Bundesrepublik mit gestaltete und von Schmitt sehr geschätzt wurde. »Conversation Between Partisans. Correspondence between Carl Schmitt and Rolf Schroers«: The writer, publicist and academy director Rolf Schroers (1919-1981) maintained close contact with Carl Schmitt (1888-1985) throughout his life, beginning in 1955. This correspondence, preserved almost in its entirety in 214 letters and response, is an important key to Schmitt's 'Theory of the partisan' (1963), which responds directly to Schroers' book 'Der Partisan' (1961) and would hardly have been written without Schroers, a prominent representative of the existentialist war generation who helped shape the political discourse of the old Federal Republic and was highly regarded by Carl Schmitt. Prof. Dr. Reinhard Mehring, born in 1959, dissertation in 1988 (Freiburg) in political science, habilitation in 2000 in philosophy (HU Berlin); 2007-2025 professor of political science at PH Heidelberg, numerous books on Carl Schmitt, Martin Heidegger, Thomas Mann, and others; editions on Ludwig Feuchtwanger (together with Rolf Rieß) and Emil Utitz. As Schmitt editor, among others: Correspondence with Rudolf Smend (Duncker & Humblot, 2nd edition 2012) and Ernst-Wolfgang Böckenförde (2022).
